Georgia Charter Schools Association congratulates the member charter schools that performed better than the local districts where they are located or the counties where students reside on Georgia’s 2017 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). In addition to beating local districts, a number of schools also beat the state CCRPI average of 75.
Atlanta Public School Charter Schools – (District Average – 68.3)
- Atlanta Classical Academy students scored 75.5 and beat both the APS and state CCRPI averages.
- Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School Elementary students received an average score of 79.6 surpassing both the district and the state scores.
- Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School Middle grades students scored 78.1, performing better than APS and the state averages.
- Centennial Academy experienced significant growth from last year. The school was among the highest in the school system with a score of 82.3. The school beat both APS and the state.
- Charles R. Drew Charter School students received an 87.9, which was one of the highest scores in the district. The school’s score was stronger than both APS and the state averages.
- Charles R. Drew Charter School Junior and Senior Academy received a collective score of 89.1 on the CCRPI, which placed it among the top middle and high schools in the district. The school beat both APS and the state CCRPI scores.
- Kindezi School students received a 72.4 on this year’s CCRPI, beating APS’ average score on the CCRPI.
- KIPP Atlanta Collegiate students scored 72.9 on the 2017 CCRPI, which was better than the average APS score.
- KIPP STRIVE Academy received a 74.1 on the 2017 CCRPI, beating the average APS score.
- KIPP WAYS Academy students received a collective score of 70.3, which beat APS’ average score on the CCRPI.
- Westside Atlanta Charter School students scored a 70.6 on the CCRPI, which was a significant improvement from last year and allowed the school to beat the average APS score.
Bibb County Charter Schools (District Average – 64.9)
- Academy for Classical Education students received a 91.6 on the 2017 CCRPI, which is significantly higher than both the Bibb County School District and state averages.
DeKalb County Charter Schools (District Average – 69.9)
- DeKalb PATH Academy students received an 81 on the 2017 CCRPI, beating both the district and state averages.
- DeKalb Academy of Technology and the Environment (D.A.T.E.) Charter School students collectively scored 80.2, surpassing both the DeKalb County School District and state averages.
- International Community School students received a 76.9 on the 2017 CCRPI. They performed better than both the DeKalb County School District and the state of Georgia and dramatically improved their score from last year.
- Leadership Preparatory Academy students received an 80.2 on the CCRPI, beating both DeKalb County School District and state averages.
- The Globe Academy received a 90.2 on the 2017 CCRPI, improving the school’s score by more than six points from 2016 and beating both the district and state average scores.
- The Museum School of Avondale Estates scored a 92.2, significantly outscoring the 2017 CCRPI averages for both DeKalb County and the state.
Douglas County Charter Schools – (District Average – 73.2)
- Brighten Academy students scored an 81.6 on the 2017 CCRPI surpassing the averages of both the local school district and the state.
Fulton County Charter Schools (District Average – 78)
- Amana Academy collectively scored 85.3 on the 2017 CCRPI, beating both the average for Fulton County Schools and the state of Georgia. The school’s middle school score (92.2) places it among the top three middle schools in Fulton County.
- Fulton Academy of Science and Technology (FAST) students received an 86.3 on the CCRPI, which is significantly higher than both the district and state CCRPI averages.
- KIPP South Fulton students scored 79.2 on the 2017 CCRPI, beating both the CCRPI averages for the Fulton County School District and the state of Georgia.
Greene County Charter Schools (District Average – 73.9)
- Lake Oconee Academy received a 93.1 on the 2017 CCRPI, which is significantly higher than both the Greene County School District and the state CCRPI averages.
Mitchell County Charter Schools (District Average – 71)
- Baconton Community Charter School students scored an 86.4, beating the Mitchell County School district and state averages on the 2017 CCRPI.
Savannah-Chatham County Charter Schools (District Average – 66.9)
- Tybee Island Maritime Academy students received an 88.3, which was significantly better than both the district and state averages on the 2017 CCRPI.
- Oglethorpe Charter School students scored 76.4 on the 2017 CCRPI, surpassing the average scores of the local district and the state.
State Charter Schools (Approved by the State Charter Schools Commission)
- Pataula Charter Academy students collectively scored 77, beating the scores of Baker, Calhoun, Clay, Early counties. The school also performed better than the state average.
- Liberty Tech has a statewide attendance zone and scored 75.5, which was better than the state average.
- International Charter School of Atlanta has a statewide attendance zone. Students averaged a 79.3 on the test beating the state average.
- Coweta Charter Academy students scored 85.2 on the 2017 CCRPI beating the local district.
- Ivy Preparatory Academy at Kirkwood for Girls scored an average of 84.1, which was significantly higher than the averages in both DeKalb County and the city of Atlanta. The school’s score improved dramatically from last year.
Sumter County Charter Schools (District Average – 59.5)
- Furlow Charter School students received a 70.7 on the 2017 CCRPI, beating the score of the local school district.
Schools Beating the State but not District CCRPI Average
- Main Street Academy students scored 75.3 on the 2017 CCRPI.
- Kennesaw Charter Science and Math Academy students received a CCRPI score of 76.7.
- New Life Academy of Excellence students scored 76.3 on the 2017 CCRPI.
