Get the Best Value for your Facility Dollar
As a public charter school, your mission is to be innovative.
Consider developing your facility in the same way you work with your students: Through innovation and a mission to be better than the status quo, in a transparent and effective manner, with one eye on performance and the other on budgetary parameters.
When using a developer to provide your school a new or renovated facility, there are two primary methods from which to choose: A Closed method, and an Open, transparent method.
Both methods involve negotiated terms and deliver the facility for use. However, the Open method provides for an engaged, transparent partnership, involving the school in the process to drive value, not just delivery. The Open method allows for the choice of local or national service providers, including the general contractor, independently, depending on which best suits the project regarding pricing, delivery, and local requirements.
This also means that instead of the “packaged” product of a Closed method, the Open method invites cooperation, looks for value opportunity, can adapt and change when needed, and creates a true partnership between the developer and school.
From this partnership you work together to determine affordability, agree to terms and expectations, establish your project team, and determine the best path to ownership.
