GCSA is CURRENTLY accepting applications for the summer and fall cohorts of GaTAPP, our alternative teacher certification program. Although charter schools are able to waive teacher certification, it’s critical to make sure all teachers are on a path to certification. This not only improves teacher quality but also increases the funding your school receives through the state formula.
The June 30, 2022 deadline for locally-approved governance training is quickly approaching! O.C.G.A. § 20-2-2072 and SBOE Rule 160-4-9-.06 require members of locally-approved nonprofit charter school governing boards to participate in nine (9) hours of annual training (for existing members) and 15 hours of training for new governing board members.
The Georgia Department of Education’s Teacher & Leader Support and Development (TLSD) team will be offering Teacher Keys and Leader Keys Initial Credentialing Training several times over the next few months. The May – August training dates are listed below to assist with summer planning.
