Special thanks to Utopian Academy for the Arts, Dr. Artesius Miller, founder and CEO of the Utopian Academy for the Arts Charter School Network, and Caleb Land, Principal of Utopian Academy for the Arts at Trilith. On Friday, Oct. 10, they graciously hosted the GCSA Charter Incubator Fellows for a school visit as part of their fellowship experience.
During the visit, Dr. Miller and Principal Land provided valuable insight and guidance on the charter petitioning process and led fellows on a tour of the stunning Trilith campus, where students were actively engaged in film production and hands-on arts learning. Dr. Miller and Principal Land also offered ongoing support to each fellow and their governing board as they continue in their petition journey.
This visit exemplified the power of peer learning within Georgia’s charter school ecosystem. Experiencing high-quality instruction, strong school culture, and the leadership of a successful Georgia charter school founder gave fellows a tangible model of excellence as they work to design and launch their own schools. Opportunities like this help bring the fellowship’s mission to life—equipping future school founders with both inspiration and practical insight to build thriving, sustainable schools for Georgia students.
